Bachan's Yuzu Japanese BBQ Sauce $14.95

In Japan, teriyaki refers not to a sauce, but a cooking technique.

Food is grilled or broiled with a glaze of soy sauce, mirin and sugar. In Western cooking, teriyaki has become a catchall term for a range of soy-based sauces and marinades. This barbecue sauce by a Japanese-American grandmother marries the two cultures for a simple, bold sauce.

Not sure how you’d use it?

We test everything we sell. Here’s how we’d use this.

This yuzu barbecue sauce will work on virtually anything, but we especially like it as a dipping sauce for dumplings, as a base for stir-fries, used in Japanese Yakiniku, as a sauce on chicken wings or fried chicken, as a marinade for meat and fish, added to rice bowls or as a sauce for sautéed veggies.
