Il Colle Del Gusto Coarse Hazelnut Spread with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Il Colle del Gusto's Granellona Brut is an artisanal form of Nutella that is lighter, glossier and more aromatic. With a high hazelnut content of 42%, it is made using local, high-quality roasted nuts from Italy, which have a toasty, buttery flavor, light sweetness and earthy depth. The use of 100% organic extra-virgin olive oil in this creamy spread, from the Sabine Hills northeast of Rome, lends a lustrous, glossy sheen and has a cleaner taste than the heavy palm oil that other brands use. Granellona Brut doesn't taste noticeably of olive oil, however; rather, its fruity notes enhance those same qualities in the chocolate. Chopped hazelnut pieces add a crunchy textural element to this spread, but its overall consistency is in fact silky and spreadable. Because the nut oils and cocoa aren't completely blended together in this crunchy spread, it has a pronounced dark chocolate flavor that is punctuated by buttery bits of hazelnut, allowing you to savor both in every bite.

We trust Il Colle Del Gusto’s dessert expertise. Co-founder Antonio della Corte was creating sweet mixes in gelato and pastry shops before joining forces in 2012 with Anna Maria Conti, who produced fruity extra-virgin olive oil of the highest quality from her farm. They started by selling a line of spreads at farmers markets around Rome, among them Noccioliva, and the rest is history.
