Itza Wood Itza Wood Wooden Bento Plates — Set of 3 $74.95

A stunning combination of tropical wood, sustainably harvested and sourced from the Petén jungle.

The woods Itza Wood uses for these beautiful and highly durable products—which are certified as sustainable by the Forest Stewardship Council—have a rich and bountiful history that dates all the way back to the Mayan empire. In fact, the Mayans built one of the grandest ancient structures in the world, La Danta (which still stands), using wood from the very same forests these boards are sourced from.

Not sure how you’d use it?

We test everything we sell. Here’s how we’d use this.

With a little care, hardwoods can last a lifetime. We recommend conditioning your board with a mixture of beeswax and food-safe linseed oil, mineral oil or any other natural oil that does not turn rancid. Do this once a week for the first month and then sporadically to restore vibrancy when the wood dulls. Boards can be washed with warm soapy water but do not leave submerged in water.

Kitchen Notes

All of Itza’s kitchen utensils, serving boards and bowls are finished with a nontoxic and food-safe beeswax paste.
