Loisa Organic Adobo $11.95

From their New York City Kitchens, Kenny Luna and Scott Hattis began Loisa to produce top-quality, organic versions of popular Latin ingredients—beginning with the two iconic spices adobo and sazon.

The name is an homage to “Loisaida”—the nickname for the Lower East side barrio of NYC that’s known for being the heart of Latin cuisine and culture.

We test everything we sell. Here’s how we’d use this.

HOW TO USE

This versatile spice blend is a simple and easy way to dress up roasted veggies, plain rice, meats and really anything else you can think of. It’s great addition to homemade veggie patties or fritters like our Black-Eyed Pea Fritters as well as to simple soups like our Caramelized Carrot Soup with Fennel Seeds and Cumin—we like to replace the cumin and fennel with a tablespoon of the adobo. You can also use it instead of salt when you season flour for breading and frying chicken cutlets and more. Or toss with your sliced and mashed green plantains before frying to make seasoned tostones.
