When Okazu founders Jess Mantell and Fumi Tsukamoto moved from Japan to Toronto, they found themselves missing the country’s rich restaurant culture—so they created this miso chili oil to accompany their onigiri rice balls.
They began selling it at farmers markets around the area. And while there are many Japanese chili oil condiments on the market these days, this one is incredibly unique with the addition of umami-rich miso.
