The Baconer’s small-batch products are the closest thing to butcher-shop bacon.

Run-of-the-mill grocery stores may carry decent bacon, but finding a range of flavors or innovative cuts—like slab, thick-cut or lardons—can be a challenge. The Baconer’s craft products start with humanely raised, antibiotic-free pigs from family farms. Every product is cured with one of Baconer’s creative flavors—like maple sugar or spicy jalapeño—then smoked low and slow over applewood chips, before being cut to order and shipped overnight.

HOW TO USE

The Maple Sugar bacon pairs beautifully with the sweetness of our Brussels Sprouts with Apple, Bacon and Honeyed Pecans, while also adding some smoky savoriness. Top our Kimchi and Bacon Fried Rice with crisped-up lardons, ground bacon or bacon steak (and fry the rice in rendered bacon fat). Try the Smoky Paprika Small-Batch Bacon Strips or XXL Bacon Steaks in our Steak and Bacon Tacos (Tacos de Alambre). Add a small amount of ground bacon to our Neapolitan Meatballs with Ragù for a flavor boost. A little goes a long way, because of the ground bacon’s salty flavor—try a quarter-pound of bacon for every pound of beef. When crisping up any of the Baconer’s products, use the rendered bacon fat for cooking—we love it for lentil soup, roasting vegetables, frying potatoes or baking cornbread.
