The ThermaPop is the economical younger cousin of ThermoWorks' ThermaPen Mk4, the gold standard in digital kitchen thermometers. It is an instant-read thermometer that uses a more common—but still effective—thermistor mechanism as opposed to the industrial-grade thermocouple sensor in the ThermaPen. The compact ThermaPop gives three-second readings accurate within 2°F and measures an incredible range of -58°F to 572°F, so it's not just useful for checking meat doneness but also for lower-temperature applications like baking and sous vide.
