Farm-fresh Vermont goat milk and butter takes these silky caramels from Big Picture Farms to another level. Swapping the usual cow’s milk for goat adds a subtle grassy tang that both lifts and complements the deep, rich flavor of caramelized sugar. Every bite is buttery and melts in your mouth, with just enough chew to feel toothsome—never tough. This 20-piece sampler box is packed with an assortment of eight flavors that showcase Vermont’s natural bounty. Take the Cider Honey and Raspberry Rhubarb flavors for example: The cider jelly, honey and rhubarb wine that give these treats their tart, floral sweetness are all sourced from the Green Mountain State. (So is the maple syrup in the Maple Cream caramels and the bourbon in the Brown Butter Bourbon; even the mint in the Wild Chocolate Mint caramels comes from Big Picture’s very own herb garden.) The delicately spiced Chai and silky Cocoa Latte flavors offer something a little warmer, while the Sea Salt & Vanilla rounds out the offerings with a salty-sweet combo. There’s something for everyone here in fact, when we tested these caramels in the Milk Street office, no one had the same favorite flavor.
