Crisp, delicate cinnamon wafer cookies packed in a collectible tin that’s both a fully functional carousel and a music box—how fun is that? The cookies, called barquillos in Spain, are light, crisp and cinnamon-y. And this isn’t a treat you can get just anywhere: La Dulcería is among the few companies that still produce barquillos—and we are the first American retailer to offer them. Barquillo literally means “little boat” in English, and refers to the boat-like molds originally used to make the wafers. La Dulcería still makes theirs the old-fashioned way: Rolling each wafer into the classic tubular shape using a series of 15 molds. They then pack the cookies in a colorful carousel tin adorned with horses and riders that actually rotates and plays music. The charming carousel makes a great gift or keepsake that you can reuse for years to come.
