After tasting coffees from roasters around the country, we decided to partner with Elevator Cafe & Commons, a small roaster in Portland, Oregon, to produce a custom blend for us from the freshest beans. The bright, clear flavors and precision of their roasting thoroughly impressed us. When you order our blend, you can be sure that the beans have been freshly roasted and shipped out immediately. Our inaugural 177 Milk Street coffee is a do-it-all blend that works across brewing methods and accommodates a variety of palates. The medium roast mix of Central and South American beans packs a full, rich body and a balanced nutty, cocoa-rich flavor. It’s a solid, full-bodied blend that’ll be terrific brewed in your standard coffee maker, pour-over, French press, Italian-style Moka pot or cold brew.
Villa Real Hot Chocolate with Vanilla
This hot chocolate has only a few raw ingredients, yet the beverage has a wonderful depth and warmth, as well as a complex flavor: creamy, nutty and perfectly balanced between bitter and sweet. The addition of ground almonds makes for a silkier, buttery mouthfeel, especially if you whisk the milk constantly while heating it; this allows the nutty aroma of the almonds to permeate the drink for a richer sensation and fullness of flavor. The vanilla's pronounced aroma—paired with a greater percentage of cocoa—produces a comforting, familiar flavor profile that reminds us of high-quality milk chocolate. And cinnamon, a defining feature of Mexican hot chocolate, is an ideal complement for cacao's bitter undertones, as its spicy aroma brightens hot chocolate while its floral accents match those in the drink.
The Chai Bar Sanyukta Bharatam Classic Masala Chai
This classic, aromatic tea blend is carefully crafted in small batches. The producer notes that this blend is inspired by India’s “unity in diversity,” as its spices and tea leaves reflect the country’s myriad regional cultures. The first flavor that hits the tongue is bold, warming cinnamon and cardamom with cozy undertones of nutmeg and clove. Fresh black tea rounds out the spices with a malty flavor—ending on a gingery heat and a note of creamy richness.
Hernán Mexico Chocolate Skulls
Made from stone-ground, organic cocoa beans harvested in Chiapas, Mexico, Hernán Mexico’s Chocolate Skulls are wonderfully rich in both flavor and culture. Besides providing deeply flavored real hot chocolate when melted into hot milk, the skull shape and vibrant colored packaging of this set pays tribute to important symbols of “Día de los Muertos,” the Mexican holiday that celebrates the afterlife. These decadent skulls make hot chocolate that is full of traditional cinnamon and not too sweet, unlike overly sugary American versions. They’re also great on their own as candies, and we love them as gifts. The hand-woven palm leaf packaging can be reused as little baskets.

South American Heirloom Cacao is used in every Cacoco drinking chocolate for a perfect balance of fruity, floral and nutty notes. All cacao is certified organic from biodynamic farms that support lush ecological diversity, and all farming partners are paid fair trade wages or above. 60% Rich Dark has a deep, concentrated flavor with barely there hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. As with all drinking chocolates, its consistency is velvety and smooth, much thicker and more luscious than typical powdered hot cocoa. This version also contains lucuma, a fruit from South America, which gives the drink a natural, subtle sweetness.

These flower teas—technically known as tisanes, or caffeine-free infusions—are sourced by The Qi from small farms across Asia when the finest flowers are picked at peak bloom. The Trio Petite Flower Teas took over a year to create and source three different petite flower varieties, all with a range of flavors and holistic benefits. Pick from Butterfly Pea, sweet, floral and citrusy that steeps blue and changes to purple with a bit of lemon juice; Jasmine, lightly floral and fragrant with a hint of sweet honeysuckle; or Rosebud, nutty, rosy and sweet with a touch of honey. All three flowers are full of antioxidants and help to promote relaxation. To enjoy, simply steep one flower in hot water for 3 to 5 minutes, making sure it is fully submerged.
