We found the only spoon you’ll ever need in the kitchen: the Japanese-designed Gestura Silver Spoon. Doubling as both a mixing and serving utensil, the spoon has a wide tablespoon-sized well to hold liquids, a long, comfortable handle for stirring and a fine point for precise, controlled pouring or saucing. That means you won’t need three different tools taking up space on the countertop (or crowding your dishwasher later). The spoon is also designed with a flared lip, which 1) prevents the tablespoon of liquid ingredients from spilling over and 2) helps scrape the corners of pots and pans (deglazing and scraping up fond is easy) or storage containers. We use this spoon for virtually anything, from measuring, mixing and basting to pouring, plating and serving. Your fingers will be at a safe distance when stirring hot soups, sauces and braises. The tumbled, unpolished look is inspired by tarnished steel utensils you’d find at vintage markets. Each spoon is stamped and etched, before it’s finished by hand on a lathe at Mr. Okada’s workshop in Niigata, Japan.
