Designed in collaboration with the National Library of France, this luxuriously soft linen apron blends functionality with French gastronomic history. The screen-printed images come straight from the library’s extensive iconographic archives, which include a large collection of historical culinary prints and illustrations. We have two designs to share: One showcases Jean Brillat-Savarin’s “Physiologie du Goût” (The Physiology of Taste), an renowned entry in the history of French gastronomy, rendered as a vintage cover-style print. The second features a curated collage of antique labels from French food, wine and apothecary products.
Each design is printed by hand on ultra-soft, naturally-hued light beige linen, making this apron a true “série limitée.” The aprons are one of a kind and can never be exactly reproduced. And since the aprons were produced in a very limited run, we’re one of the only American retailers lucky enough to offer them.
