Miya Company Uchuu Serving Bowl

Made in Japan, this serving bowl is an example of Mino ware, a 1,300-year-old ceramic style known for its organic shapes, natural glazes and wabi-sabi philosophy. The mottled deep blue design is inspired by the vastness of “uchuu,” or the cosmos. The interior’s light blue speckles contrast the indigo glazing, thus symbolizing stars in the night sky. The bowl’s exterior features subtle ribbing for a comfortable grip when transported food from kitchen to table. Each piece goes through “yōhen,” a kiln-firing style where the flame, temperature and humidity cause natural variations—so no two bowls are alike. With its 9.25-inch diameter, the bowl is perfect for serving noodles, rice dishes and salads or displaying fruit. Safe to use in the microwave and dishwasher.
