These colorful, fruity gelées from Genova, Italy, are soft and sweet with the ideal amount of chew. They get their flavor from real fruit juice, not synthetic approximations, so every bite is a burst of true-to-life fruitiness. The texture is more akin to a top-notch pâte de fruit (rather than your average gummy candy or stale jelly bean), so the gelées are firm enough to hold bite marks yet tender enough to dissolve cleanly on the palate. A light dusting of sugar on the surface adds a bit of textural contrast without ever being tough or crunchy—and it keeps your fingers from getting sticky as you hold them. Each pink or blue box comes with 10 gelées in an assortment of fruit flavors, including Orange, Lemon, Pear, Fragola (Strawberry), Mirtillo (Blueberry) and Lampone (Raspberry).

Rossella was founded in 1897 by confectioner Santo Rossello and almost 130 years later, they’re still using the same old-school recipes and techniques to craft their sweet treats by hand. They’re known across Italy for their quality, craftsmanship and commitment to tradition, but are usually hard to find in the U.S.
