This handcrafted porcelain soy sauce pot pours with precision—and no drips. It represents heirloom Japanese ceramics at their very best: Nagasaki Prefecture-based Hakusan Porcelain has been in business since 1779, and they use techniques that date back more than 15 centuries. You can see the expertise in every part of this pot. The spout curves slightly downward at the tip, which prevents the contents from sloshing, spilling or dripping. Its round body and lid take inspiration from the unique shapes of riverbank pebbles, which are never exactly the same shape—no part of this pot is perfectly symmetrical and you can even subtly change its appearance by rotating the lid. (And due to its handmade nature, each piece is one of a kind.) Although this pot was designed specifically for soy sauce, its petite size and purpose-built spout make it a natural fit for anything you’d finish a dish with, from sesame oil and vinegars to extra-virgin olive oil and maple syrup. Plus, it looks so charming on the table you won’t want to put it away. Available in White or Navy Blue glazes.
