And it has the good looks of oiled walnut to boot. It couldn’t be easier to use: Remove the cap, pour in your peppercorns and start grinding. The grind coarseness is easily adjustable via the key at the bottom of the mill, so you can quickly dial in preferred textures. (Turn the key clockwise for a finer grind and counter-clockwise for a coarser one.) To fill the grinder, pull up the cap and pour peppercorns (or any other whole spices you like) into the reservoir. Adjusting the grind coarseness is as simple as turning the gray key at the bottom clockwise (for a finer grind) or counter-clockwise (for a coarser one).

Protect the solid walnut body by keeping it dry and spot-cleaning with a soft cloth only as necessary. To clean the grinding mechanism, unscrew the adjustment wheel, remove the inner ceramic cone and use a dry, stiff brush to clean the ceramic parts. If necessary, immerse the ceramic cone in warm water to dissolve any remaining residue. Allow all ceramic parts to dry for at least 24 hours before reassembling. If you want to use your grinder for a different spice, you can quickly “clean” it by grinding some coarse salt. This will remove spice residues and clean the ceramic parts.
