Zassenhaus Bread Slicer

Color

Cut bakery-style loaves and deli-worthy sandwiches at home with this old-school, die-cast European bread slicer from Zassenhaus. The adjustable, 6.5-inch round serrated blade and smooth beechwood handle produce perfect pieces of bread—including baguettes, bagels and those thick, crusty loaves that are impossible to slice evenly by hand—with a few quick cranks. (And yes, it works well on ingredients beyond bread, from cold cuts and cheese to lettuce, tomato and onion.) You can adjust the blade position to yield slices as thin as 1 millimeter (a paper-thin 0.04 inches) and as thick as 18 millimeters (a hearty 0.7 inches). This precision means you can customize individual sandwich components to you or your guest’s exact preferences. In addition, the beechwood base is fashioned with suction cups on all four corners to keep the slicer locked onto the counter, whether you’re cutting homemade sourdough or shredding a head of iceberg. It makes a great tool or gift for bread bakers and sandwich or charcuterie lovers. Available in Black or Red.

Before use, secure the slicer to your counter by gently pressing on each corner of the base; if needed, slightly wet the cups to help create suction. Adjust the blade to your desired thickness setting, then place the loaf or ingredient you want to slice on the base opposite the handle. Turn the handle to rotate the blade. You’ll have even slices in seconds. Make quick work of bread (like sourdough, Pullman loaves, bagels and more); shred lettuce and cabbage; slice tomatoes, potatoes or onions and cut through blocks of cheese or cold cuts, salami and other charcuterie.

Hand-wash only.
