The melty cheese goodness of raclette shouldn’t just be limited to the Alps. You already love Swiss company Boska’s smaller raclette set, so now we’re bringing you the XL for even more fun. This portable raclette can go just about anywhere for pourable, molten cheese, ideal for a picnic, camping, on a patio or at a party. Using the included tea lights, you can melt your cheese in minutes to pour over potatoes, bread, vegetables or meat. The set comes with eight non-stick, heat-protective trays and spatulas for larger group entertaining—and to scrape every inch of cheese onto your plate. Plus, the raclette is safe to place directly onto a barbecue, allowing for an even quicker melt if needed.

Light tea lights, add your cheese to the pan, set the pan on top of the lit base and allow cheese to heat. You’ll have melted cheese in minutes. In the absence of raclette cheese, Gruyère, Emmental, Fontina or any mixture of melting cheeses will work well.

Clean base with wet cloth and dishwashing liquid, do not soak. Clean grill pans and spatulas with lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid.

Where does raclette come from?

The phenomenon of raclette has actually been a dining experience since 1921. Otherwise known as an outdoor meal of vegetables and raclette cheese warmed by a campfire, farmers from Valais in Western Switzerland were the first to eat it. Traditionally, a wheel of raclette cheese was cut in half and placed near the fire until it began to melt and was scraped onto veggies like boiled potatoes, pickled onions, gherkins, capers and more.
