This beautiful board made from native big-leaf mahogany functions as both a durable cutting board and a unique warm-toned surface for serving. Handcrafted by Itza Wood with major attention paid to curing, sanding and finishing, this board features unique grains of wood sustainably harvested from Guatemala’s Petén Jungle. Each of these hard tropical wood pieces can take months to create, due to the drying process the wood goes through, and can last a lifetime. It takes an average 14 steps in the woodworking process to reach the highest standard of quality finish. To ensure durability the tropical wood is dried in a kiln, de-stressing it to prevent warping and changes as it is then transformed by an artisanal team of talented carvers, carpenters and crafts people.
