Mayamam Weavers Handwoven Kitchen Apron

Regular price $65.00
Color

From first glance, it’s obvious this apron didn’t come from a big-box store. Bands of bright, coordinating colors run up and down the length of each piece and its handwoven texture is thick and soft, yet hardy and durable. The cross-back design is both comfortable and practical—with no ties to deal with, you can just slip it on and get cooking—while two deep patch pockets on the front hold tongs, towels, a phone—anything you’ll need to keep within reach.

This apron was made to last a lifetime: Hand woven by the Mayamam cooperative of women weavers in Cajolá, Guatemala, each piece represents the rich history of Maya weaving and a sustainable future for the community. The women of Mayamam meticulously weave the textiles by hand on traditional Maya looms, then use industrial sewing machines to finish construction. The results are gorgeous, heirloom-quality aprons that brighten up any kitchen. Available in three bold colors—Berry, Cobalt and Poblano—this apron makes an excellent gift, especially when paired with a set of matching towels.
