If your ancient range hood struggles to keep up with the smoke alarm, the AirHood 2 Pro is here to help. Designed to be used alone or with your existing hood, this portable electric air filter minimizes smoke, splatters and odors to keep your kitchen air fresh and clean—even when searing steak on high heat. It accomplishes this by using two different filters—a stainless steel one to catch aerosolized oil and grease particles, and an activated charcoal one for the really fine stuff—and four different fan settings. The lowest setting is great for venting steam or a little bit of smoke, while the high-powered Turbo mode handles heavy-duty cooking and quickly clears the air when you're done. (And if neither of those feel right, there are still two more settings in between.)

Another key accessory makes the AirHood even more convenient: the Base Boost, which brings the device up a little higher to match for tall pots or indoor grills. The AirHood will keep smoke and smells to a minimum, whether you’re cooking fajitas on a stovetop cast iron or enjoying a hotpot spread at the dinner table.

The AirHood 2 Pro gives weak old vent hoods a boost, helping to clear smoke and splatters from high-heat applications like searing steak indoors. It also makes a great partner to additional cooking surfaces, such as induction cooktops, teppanyaki grills and hot pot, especially when used anywhere outside the kitchen. If you’re cooking with a tall pot, pop on the included Base Boost to bring the AirHood up to height.

The front lid and stainless steel filter are both dishwasher-safe. To clean the shell, wipe with a soft, damp cloth; use a bit of mild detergent for stubborn stains.
