My wife is crazy about anything fermented, from kimchi to the bottles of kombucha that take up an entire shelf in our refrigerator. With this set, anyone can produce fermented food such as sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles and more at home. For example, just add crushed spices, sliced cabbage and apples to the jar, cover with water and then weigh down the contents with the supplied ceramic stones. Cover with the wooden top and the bung set (a glass contraption with a one-way airlock that allows pressure to escape while keeping the jar sealed) and wait 4 to 6 weeks. Incredibly easy to do and fun as well.
