Blake Hill Preserves Pumpkin Maple Butter
This Pumpkin Maple Butter is the perfect, understated addition to your autumn pantry. Made with pumpkins, Vermont maple syrup, apple cider vinegar and spices, the resulting butter is creamy and smooth—and refreshingly restrained compared to most pumpkin spice products. With its soft, silky texture and delicate spice, the pumpkin butter is perfect for stirring into oatmeal or porridge, fall soups like butternut squash, and holiday desserts (we also love it right out of the jar). This jam is nut-free and gluten-free.
Eat This Yum Heirloom Cranberry Compote
This bright-red holiday favorite from small-batch jam maker Eat This Yum starts with ripe cranberries grown in New Jersey. Because cranberries are the star here—they’re blended with only a little d’Anjou pear, candied ginger, port and freshly grated orange zest to help the tart fruit shine. The compote tastes more savory-tart than sweet, a perfect companion for holiday roasts. With a silky texture and traditional flavor, this compote is for anyone looking for a tart cranberry sauce. Get yours while you can—Eat This Yum only makes a little of this every year, depending on how many cranberries they can source, so inventory is limited.
Koy Pantry Antep Pistachio Butter
There are only two ingredients in Koy Pantry’s Pistachio Butter, but this textured nut spread is packed with intense flavor. Unlike other nut butters on the market that are dense and artificial-tasting, Koy Pantry’s rendition tastes only of pure pistachios, nothing else. Made from Antep pistachios, a Türkiye-grown nut renowned for its vibrant green color and creamy, buttery flavor, it’s sweet, nutty and bright—and perfectly spreadable, with a consistency similar to almond butter. All pistachios are carefully sourced and selected from local Turkish farms, then air-dried, cracked and ground with a bit of sugar for a flavorful—not cloying—result. Slather it on toast, cakes, cookies and pastries, whip into frosting, fold into batters or ice cream base, blend into a smoothie, stir into yogurt or eat it straight off the spoon. The possibilities are endless.
Azienda Agricola Caravaglio Capers in Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
Harvested on the Aeolian Islands off Sicily’s northeastern coast, these plump, meaty capers are a world apart from the usual tiny nonpareils. Picked and preserved in olive oil flavored with oregano, bay and vinegar, they pack a bright, balanced herbal flavor—none of the sharpness of most capers. Try them in salads, pasta sauces or even pizza.
Castillo de Jijona Marcona Almond Butter
Castillo de Jijona’s Spanish Marcona Almond Butter is the only one we’ve found of its kind—it’s made from 100 percent Spanish Marcona almonds, a prized, slightly sweeter, smoother alternative to a conventional almond. The flavor is buttery, rich and neutral, with its only sweetness coming naturally from the almonds. It has a velvety, pourable consistency, much different than the grainier, drier versions made from standard almonds; we found that very little stirring was required upon opening to reincorporate any natural separation of the oils. Try it as an ingredient or a topping for desserts, smoothies, oatmeal, vinaigrettes or vegetables. The butter’s creamy consistency incorporates easily into other ingredients.
Xilli Veracruzan Hot Honey
This truly unique hot honey is nothing like the one-dimensional versions of the condiment you may find elsewhere. Single-origin Veracruzan honey gets dimension and complexity from three different types of Mexican chilies, as well as an unexpected twist from an infusion of coffee beans. The coffee and chilies add a deep, tobacco smokiness and fruity, earthy kick of heat, which temper the honey’s floral sweetness. Try it on a charcuterie or cheese plate, grilled pork, pizza, fried chicken and barbecue or in desserts and beverages (we’d love it in horchata or a cocktail)—it packs a bold punch.
Milk Street Digital Class: Tinned Fish for All Occasions with Anna Hezel
“Which aisle of the grocery store can transport you to the cerulean coves of the Costa Brava, the rocky shores of Brittany, or the salmon smokehouses overlooking Alaska’s Bristol Bay? Only the canned fish aisle, where you’ll find tins full of salty treasures from around the world, miraculously preserved and ready for you to enjoy.” So begins Anna Hezel’s new book, “Tin to Table,” a love song to anchovies, sardines, tuna, oysters, scallops, eel and more—all of which you can enjoy straight from a tin. Join Anna at this pre-recorded livestream class to learn why your pantry should perpetually stock an assortment of tinned fish. We start with the basics, like choosing great brands and decoding confusing labels. Then, we put some of Anna’s favorite tinned fishes to use. First is a classic Caesar salad, which just isn’t complete without anchovies. Hers uses anchovies two ways—in the dressing and tossed with toasted challah breadcrumbs—in order to lean into their umami-forward complexity. Then, you’ll see how sardines transform a simple pasta dish, a riff on Sicilian pasta con le sarde. Combined with sweet yellow raisins, bright fennel and grassy white wine, the sardines make this meat-free pasta dish feel robust and filling. Whether you’re already a tinned fish enthusiast or need some guidance as you start your collection, this class is for you.

Gulf of Maine Conservas Wild Bluefin Tuna
Widely considered the “king of fish,” bluefin tuna is such a delicacy it’s typically reserved for sushi and sashimi—until now. Sustainably line-caught one fish at a time on the Gulf of Maine, this canned wild bluefin tuna is far from your everyday grocery store brand. Darker in color and hand-packed in large, flaky pieces with extra virgin olive oil, this delicate tuna is rich, meaty and buttery. Moist and full of savory, natural flavor that isn’t overly fishy or dry like other brands, Gulf of Maine Conserva’s canned tuna is so good, it doesn’t need any sauces or ingredients. Add it to toasts, crackers, salads and pastas plain, or dress it up with a splash of vinegar or lemon juice, herbs, alliums and something briny. Or, add it to any of your favorite classic tuna dishes.
